Creamed chicken and biscuits is an easy recipe that requires 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Also, the recipe needs 2 cups both milk and chopped chicken.
The chicken needs to be cooked beforehand, and chicken broth can be substituted for the 2 cups milk. Sauté the onion in butter in a large skillet over medium heat until it is tender, and then add the flour, salt and pepper to the skillet. Add the milk or broth slowly, and bring to a boil. Next, reduce heat, and stir for roughly two minutes or until the mixture thickens. Add the cooked chicken to the skillet, and throw in some minced parsley if desired.
To make biscuits to pour the creamed chicken on, simply combine 2 cups flour with 1 tablespoon baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt. Then, stir in 1/3 cup canola oil and 2/3 cup of milk. Knead the dough into a ball, and press it out onto a lightly-floured surface to about 1 inch in thickness. Cut out six separate biscuit-sized pieces, and lay them on a greased pan. Bake them at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
