Churchill polar bears are polar bears that migrate through the city of Churchill in Manitoba, Canada. The polar bears remain around Churchill from October through November, waiting for the Hudson Bay to freeze. The endangered bears serve as a huge tourist attraction for the city.
The polar bears haven't eaten any food for about four months by the time they walk into Churchill. While around the city, the bears spend their time lazing, lying down and doing as little as possible to conserve energy for the coming ringed seal hunt that begins as soon as the bay is frozen. The polar bears appear to form brief alliances with others until the ice covers the Hudson.
