Students and educators can find STAR sample test questions on the website of California's Standardized Testing and Reporting program. The questions come from previously administered tests and are sorted by grade, performance level and subject.
The STAR test does not repeat sample questions on future tests. Instead, the sample questions seek to show the depth of knowledge needed for students to pass the standardized assessments. Questions measure aptitude in the natural and social sciences, English language proficiency and mathematics. California's Department of Education administers STAR tests to public school students to gauge the educational effectiveness of schools and help students identify academic strengths and weaknesses relative to their peer group.
