What Are Some of the Attractions in Pigeon Forge?

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is home to Dollywood and Dollywood's Splash Country, the Titanic Museum, and the Smoky Mountain Opry Theater. Outdoor lovers may also want to spend time at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Dollywood and Dollywood's Splash Country are the creations of country-western singer Dolly Parton. The theme park has rides for all ages, from the Beaver Creek Boat Float for the little ones to the Smoky Mountain River Rampage, a white-water thrill ride. Splash Country, a water park, offers even more chances to get wet, including the Raging River Rapids and Mountain Waves, a 25,000-square foot wave pool.

The Titanic Museum honors the ship that hit an iceberg and sank in the North Atlantic. Tours include a walk down the ship's recreated Grand Staircase, past artifacts recovered from the site and a chance to pretend-steer a replica ship. The Smoky Mountain Opry is the town's main theater, hosting variety shows as well as big name entertainers.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers the chance to hike, bike, fish, ride horses or go on a picnic near a waterfall. Campgrounds for RVs and tents are available, as are more remote back-country sites. Special auto-accessible horse camps are available for those wanting to bring their own horses.
