Andy Gibb died on March 10, 1988, at the age of 30. Gibb died as a result of myocarditis, a heart condition, which was exacerbated by his excessive use of cocaine.
Gibb was survived by his ex-wife, Kim Reeder, as well as the couple's daughter, Peta. Gibb's body was returned to the United States, and he was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, California. His death also inspired the creation of the Andy Gibb Memorial Foundation, which contributes to charities such as the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
