The author of the Junie B. Jones children's series of books was Barbara Parker. Parker was born in Mount Holly, New Jersey as Barbara Tidswell, and passed away on November 15, 2013 at the age of 66.
Parker, a former class clown and troublemaker herself, was best known for writing the Junie B. Jones series about a smart-mouthed sixth grader that has sold over 55 million copies in North America alone. The series remained on the New York Times bestseller list for 180 weeks and has been featured in Time, USA Today and Newsweek. The Junie B. Jones books have also been translated into multiple languages and Parker has won many Children's Choice Awards for her writing. Some of the titles of her books include "Junie B. Jones and that Meanie Jim's Birthday" and "Junie B., First Grader One-Man Band."
