As of 2015, the only available biography of V.C. Andrews is an unauthorized, self-published book by Dana Rasmussen. Several unofficial websites are dedicated to the author's work and life. She also has a listing at Biography.com, but her estate has never sanctioned an official publication of her biography.
Born in 1923, V.C. Andrews did not achieve literary fame until late in life. In 1979, she published her first successful work, "Flowers in the Attic." Over the next seven years, Andrews completed six more novels. In 1986, Andrews passed away from breast cancer, but her legacy was carried forward by a ghost writer. Andrews is posthumously credited with at least 69 books.
