Some high-rated police television shows from the 1990s were "NYPD Blue," "New York Undercover" and "Cops." As of 2015, "Cops" is the only one of these televisions shows that is still in production.
"NYPD Blue" was a police procedural show starring Dennis Franz as a Manhattan detective. The show ran from 1993 to 2005. Although "New York Undercover" only ran from 1994 through 1998, the show was notable because it starred an African-American man, a Hispanic man and a Hispanic female as the detectives. "Cops" began its run in 1989, and it was on the air throughout the 1990s. The reality show follows actual police officers around the United States and in other countries and is still featured on the Fox television network as of 2015.
