McDonald's has produced iconic television commercials for decades, and some of the well-known spots include "Little Sister," the original "You Deserve a Break Today" and "The Showdown." The success of the company's television commercials has been a large contributor in making McDonald's one of the most recognizable symbols in the world.
Arguably one of the most famous and popular commercials ever produced by McDonald's was "The Showdown" featuring NBA legends Larry Bird and Michael Jordan. The ad depicts the two superstars on a basketball court playing a game of Horse for a Big Mac meal, and the game quickly gets out of hand. The shot difficulty escalates until they are on top of a skyscraper calling balls off of the expressway, back through the gym windows and hitting "nothing but net."
The "Little Sister" ad was a part of the "McDonald's and You" promotional campaign of the early 1980s. Named by the advertising industry as one of the most memorable television commercials, it features a heart-warming look at the relationship between a big brother and his little sister as they grow up with memorable moments that included the fast food franchise.
The "You Deserve a Break Today" commercial features an army of McDonald's workers singing and dancing as they clean and shine the restaurant.
