Many critics hypothesize that Kody Brown and his family make the majority of their income from appearing on their reality show “Sister Wives.” Based on other reality stars’ salaries, The Stir estimates that the Brown family makes at least $50,000 per episode of the show.
The first season of “Sister Wives” vaguely implied that Brown used to be employed in Internet advertising sales, though he was never shown working the job. Since 2010, Brown’s work has mostly consisted of marketing his family. The Browns operate both a site selling detox and other health products as well as My Sisterwife’s Closet, which sells jewelry, clothing and other fashion accessories. However, most pop culture critics assert that the income from these businesses alone would not be enough to support the Brown family’s 17 children.
