The best way to draw anything is to start with basic shapes. The five basic shapes that work best are triangles, squares, circles, rectangles and ovals.
When drawing, it is best to move quickly at the outset. Use light lines to sketch the piece in terms of the above shapes. These shapes create the basic outline of the piece. Round and adjust those outlines later. Attempting perfectionism is a common mistake in art, which is why moving quickly is important. Once the basic outline is created, consult the original object being drawn to complete the fine details of the piece.
