To cast ballots over the phone, voters call the numbers "American Idol" assigns to specific contestants. Fans vote via text by texting their favorite contestants' assigned keyword numbers to the show's five-digit short code. For online voting, viewers go to the show's website or Facebook page to cast votes. In addition, fans have the option to cast online ballots through Google accounts.
