Many fans expected the show’s cancellation due to poor ratings in season six. Season six lost 43 percent of viewers overall and almost 35 percent of viewers in the important 18 to 49 demographic. The renewal reflected the ratings drop. While seasons one through six of "Royal Pains" had 13 episodes each, the network only renewed seasons seven and eight for eight episodes each.
Although an exact air date is forthcoming, viewers anticipate the eighth season of "Royal Pains" to air in the summer of 2016.Learn more about Art & Literature
