The “Tyra Banks Show” is an American talk-show program that was filmed primarily at Studio 56 within CBS Television City in Los Angeles, California. On the show, sometimes known as “The Tyra Show” or shortened to just “Tyra,” model and television personality Tyra Banks talks to celebrities about everyday things. The show’s first episode aired on September 12, 2005, and the final episode aired on May 28, 2010, in its fifth and final season.
The “Tyra Banks Show” began with a focus on current women’s issues, often related to “America’s Top Model,” which Tyra Banks created and still hosts, as of 2015. Later seasons had a tabloid format. The “Tyra Banks Show” aired in many countries and also on XM Satellite Radio’s Take Five channel to U.S. and Canadian audiences.
The show premiered in front of a live-to-tape CBS Television City audience in Los Angeles, California. The show moved to New York City in 2007 and recorded at Chelsea Studios and Bankable Productions, also with a live-to-tape audience. The network renewed the show in December of 2007 for two more seasons. In 2008, the show moved from Warner Bros. to The CW network’s daytime block.
For the The CW debut, the “Tyra Banks Show” debuted a new logo and a remixed version of “I’m Coming Out" by Diana Ross. The final episode featured special guest stars, such as Mike Epps, LL Cool J, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and Michael Rapaport.
