The Texas State Fair features daily live entertainment, hundreds of games and rides, an auto show, and a wide variety of food to sample. Open from Sept. 25th to Oct. 18th, 2015, it features hundreds of events and attractions included with a ticket purchase.
There are over 100 daily shows and performances at the Texas State Fair, ranging from acrobats to dancing dogs. The price of admission includes the live music performances on the Chevrolet Main Stage, featuring performances by Craig Wayne Boyd, Lyfe Jennings, the Beach Boys, Kevin Fowler and Prophets and Outlaws.
Calling itself the fried food capital of Texas, visitors to the State Fair can enjoy turkey legs, corn dogs and many other types of food. Daily cooking demonstrations in the Celebrity Chef Kitchen as well as the Competition Kitchen with daily cooking contests are other food-related events.
Kids of all ages can also enjoy the Texas State Fair, with daily attractions and activities geared toward families with children. The Pee Wee Stampede and the Kids' Pedal Tractor Pull are two examples of kid-friendly activities. In addition, there is no shortage of educational activities for kids to enjoy, such as Big Tex's Barnyard, an interactive exhibit that teaches kids about the process of food production.
