WABC is a news and talk radio station that broadcasts to the New York City area. It broadcasts on 770 AM and is also available on HD radio.
WABC has used a talk radio format since 1982, and it was the starting point for the radio programs hosted by Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. The station uses a 50,000 watt tower to transmit its signal, allowing it to be heard in much of the eastern United States.
In 2007, the Walt Disney Company sold the station to Citadel Broadcasting Corporation. In 2009, WABC began to transmit over HD radio when it began simulcasting on WPLJ's HD3 subchannel.
