El Nuevo Herald is a Spanish-language newspaper servicing the Miami-Dade area, home to the third-largest Spanish-speaking market in the United States. Like its English counterpart, The Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald covers both local and worldwide news.
El Nuevo Herald has been in publication since 1975 and is published daily as of 2015. Originally a part of the Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald grew to become its own standalone newspaper in 1988. It also won the Ortega y Gasset Journalism Award in 2002, being named the best Spanish-language newspaper in the world. On average, the digital edition of the newspaper draws in 8.2 million readers a month.
