Lisa Jackson writes romance novels, thrillers and suspense novels. She has written a number of novel series and standalone novels both on her own and in collaboration with other authors. Some of her series novels are based on settings and feature reappearing detective characters. Other series novels are based on specific themes.
Her New Orleans series feature Detectives Rick Bentz and Reuben Montoya. This series features novels published between 2001 and 2015. Jackson's San Francisco series features the Cahill Family and Detective Anthony Paterno and contains two novels: "If She Only Knew," published in 2000, and "Almost Dead," published in 2007. Series based on themes include the To Die series, which contains six novels published from 2008 to 2014. Her Wicked series was written in collaboration with Nancy Bush and features four novels published between 2009 and 2014.
Jackson has published over 85 novels, of which there are over 20 million copies in print and which have been translated into 20 languages. Her books have appeared on the bestseller lists of the New York Times, USA Today and Publishers Weekly. Thirty of her books in all have become bestsellers. She is known for showing as much concern in the motives of the characters who are the killers as in those who are trying to catch them. Booklist has said that her books "generate near-constant suspense, weaving together disparate plot turns."
