Some of Tyler Perry's plays adapted into movies include "Madea Goes to Jail," "Why Did I Get Married?" and "Diary of a Mad Black Woman." Other plays turned films include "I Can Do Bad All By Myself" and "A Madea Christmas."
Tyler Perry made his theater debut in 1998 with "I Know I've Been Changed." His plays proved enormously popular, leading him to make his film debut in 2005 with "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," adapted from one of his stage plays. Despite a mixed critical reception, the film was a box office success, and led to further adaptations such as "I Can Do Bad All By Myself" and "Why Did I Get Married?"
