The entertainment website Zap2it.com provides TV listings for the four major networks and dozens of cable channels, as of 2015. The listings can be searched by time and date.
Users also can choose for the site to highlight certain types of programming, such as sports, movies and children's shows. Registered users also can enter their favorite shows and have them highlighted on Zap2it's TV listings grid, as well. The website does not list programming by local affiliates, instead listing those times without specific network content as local programming. The listings do include premium channels, such as HBO, Showtime and the Movie Channel.
Zap2it is owned by Tribune Digital Ventures, which bought the TV analytics blog TV by the Numbers and made it part of the redesigned Zap2it.com. TDV President Sashi Seth said part of the idea of the redesign was to make it easier for users to discover programs on streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu.
Zap2it.com also has movie, television and celebrity news, reviews and features and a TV Ratings section that is powered by TV by the Numbers. That section details how television shows are doing in the ratings, what is being canceled and renewed and other information about networks and shows.
