There are two editions of SportsCentre each day. The first is aired at 10 p.m. Eastern Time and 7 p.m. Pacific Time. This version of the show is a roundup of all of the day's sports results and news, but because of the timing it is often not complete, particularly when matches or games complete after 7 p.m. PT. So there is a second program, which airs 3 hours after the first. The second program has similar content to the first, but there are different hosts and it also contains all of the updated scores and news from the day in sport.

The show has been broadcast on The Sports Network since 1984, although it had a different name when it first launched. The duration of the show is 60 minutes. The first 30 minutes is typically devoted to rounding up the results and news of the day. The second 30 minutes usually contains analysis, panel discussions and pre-packaged segments (interviews etc.). There are also special features, including those the give top lists of the most recent sporting events.
