Trey Songz is an American R&B and hip hop singer, songwriter, recording producer and actor. He released his debut album "I Gotta Make It" in 2005 and his second album "Trey Day" in 2007. The single "Can't Help but Wait" from his second album became his first top 20 single. In 2009, he had his first top 10 hit with the single "Say Aah" from his third album.
Songz was born Tremaine Aldon Neverson on Nov. 28, 1984 in Petersburg, Virginia. He was discovered by Troy Taylor when participating in a talent show during high school and signed a record contract with Atlantic records in 2003. He is the winner of two Soul Train Music Awards and a BET Award and has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and World Music Awards.
Songz has also made several television and film appearances. In 2009, he acted on the television show "Lincoln Heights" and in 2014, the show "Total Divas." His film acting credits include "Texas Chainsaw 3D," "Queen of Media," "Preacher's Kid," "When I Was Young" and "Baggage Claim." He has performed his music on several television programs including "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Late Show with David Letterman."
