Some of the top animated movies of 2014 in terms of U.S. box office gross include "The Lego Movie," "Big Hero 6" and "The Book of Life." The majority of the reviews for each movie were positive.
"The Lego Movie," an adventure comedy, follows Emmet Brickowski, a construction worker who finds the Piece of Resistance. He teams up with two Master Builders to stop Lord Business, who plans to use a weapon called the Kragle to freeze the world. Chris Pratt voices Emmet, and Will Ferrell voices Lord Business.
"Big Hero 6" is about Hiro Hamada, a boy who is an expert on robotics. He teams up with his companion robot, Baymax, and several of his friends to stop a dangerous plot. This action comedy film features Ryan Potter as the voice of Hiro and Scott Adsit as the voice of Baymax.
"The Book of Life" follows two boys, Manolo and Joaquín, as they grow up and compete for the love of a girl named María. Unbeknown to them, two spirits who rule over different lands of the dead have each bet on one of the boys winning María. Diego Luna voices Manolo, Channing Tatum voices Joaquín, and Zoe Saldana voices María.
