The lead characters in the television series "Episodes" are played by Matt LeBlanc, Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan. The premise of the "Episodes" television series revolves around the characters of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts award-winning, husband and wife writing team Sean and Beverly Lincoln, who were persuaded to take their trade stateside to Hollywood. Sean and Beverly attempt to rewrite "Lyman's Boys," a British sitcom that they co-created, for an American audience with comical results.
Matt LeBlanc plays a version of himself in the series, and he takes on the lead title character role of Lyman at the insistence of the network president, Merc Lapidus. Clair Forlani was initially cast to play the role of Beverly, but was replaced by Greig during the pre-production stage. Thomas Haden Church was also set to play Merc Lapidus, but had to give up the role due to scheduling conflicts.
Each episode of "Episodes" runs for 30 minutes, which began airing in January 2011. The show started on its fourth season in January 2015. It airs on Showtime in the United States, and on BBC2 and BBC2 HD in the United Kingdom.
