Daughter Wednesday was played by actress Christina Ricci, who went on to star in movies such as "Sleepy Hollow" and "Monster." Veteran actor Dan Hedaya played the scheming family lawyer, Tully Alford, and Elizabeth Wilson starred as his co-conspirator Abigail Craven, also known as Dr. Greta Pinder-Schloss.

"The Addams Family" was directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, who also directed the second movie in the franchise, "Addams Family Values." "Addams Family Values," released in 1993, featured the same key cast members as the first film. The third movie, "Addams Family Reunion" came out in 1998 and was directed by Dave Payne. Most major roles were re-cast for this installment.
