A speaking Bible, or talking Bible, offers an audio recording of the Bible’s text. These audiobooks can provide a dramatization of the material or a simple reading of the text. They are typically distributed as audio CDs or MP3 files for listening on compact audio devices.
Various historical translations of the text exist including the King James Version, the New King James Version, the New International Version and the New American Standard. While individual versions vary, there are typically 66 books of the Bible separated into two sections, the Old and New Testaments. As of 2014, the full written text of the Bible has been translated into over 500 languages and audio versions of the Bible are available in over 900 languages.
