The Dania Beach Marine Flea Market offers boating-related items such as fishing tackle, diving gear, new and used boats, marine gear, and marine artwork. It also features a food court and live entertainment. Beverages are available for purchase at the event.
Shoppers can also find clothes, antiques, hats, bags and sunglasses at the flea market. With over 1,000 vendor stalls, the market is not only South Florida's largest marine flea market, but the largest of its kind in the world. The flea market attracts locals as well as vacationers who plan their trips around attending the market. As of 2015, the market, which first took place in 1979, is held at the Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach.
Manufacturers, distributors and dealers as well as private individuals participate and operate vendor stalls at the market, which offers great bargains on marine gear in a relaxed, party-like atmosphere. In 2015, the market was held from March 12 through March 15. Its hours of operation were 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets for Thursday cost $12, and tickets for Friday through Sunday cost $10. Children under 12 are always admitted for free, and no pets are allowed.
