The band MercyMe recorded such songs as "I Can Only Imagine,” “Caught Up In the Middle” and “Gotta Let It Go.” These songs are on their albums “Almost There,” “Undone” and “Welcome to the New” respectively.
MercyMe is a contemporary American Christian rock band. The group got its start in Greenville, Texas, in 1994. Members of the band include vocalist Bart Millard, percussionist Robby Shaffer, guitarist Michael Scheuzchzer, bassist Nathan Cochran and guitarist Barry Graul, as of July 2015. The band's former keyboardist, James Bryson, left the band in 2014.
The group's debut album “Almost There” achieved double-platinum certification thanks in part to its crossover single “I Can Only Imagine.” On the Billboard Christian Songs chart, the band has made 13 consecutive top five singles as of 2015. In April 2014, the band released its eighth studio album “Welcome to the New.”
On Aug. 8, 2009, the MercyMe tour bus was in an accident. While traveling through an intersection in Fort Wayne, Indiana, it hit a passenger car that made a left turn on red. The crash killed two passengers and an unborn baby. The band was on its way to perform at Six Flags St. Louis, but rescheduled the show.
