The American Heroes Channel (formerly called the Military Channel) carries programs such as "Natural Born Outlaws," "America: Facts vs. Fiction," "Against the Odds," "Gunslingers," "Evolution of Evil" and "Manhunt: Kill or Capture." Other shows are "Auschwitz: Hitler's Final Solution," "The American Revolution," "World War II in Color," "World at War" and "Future Weapons." The American Heroes Channel carries programs relating to the military, military history and warfare. It launched in 1999 as Discovery Wings Channel, with programming focused on aircraft, aviation and aerospace. In 2005 it was rebranded as the Military Channel, retaining a focus on aerial warfare and related technologies, but also expanding into other areas of the military and warfare. In 2014 the Military Channel was rebranded as the American Heroes Channel with the intent to provide narrative-style documentaries and historical programming.
The American Heroes Channel is a sponsor of the United Services Organizations. Dennis Haysbert serves as the network's continuity announcer. In addition to its historical programming and documentaries, the channel also shows military movies such as "Hunt for Red October" and "Saving Private Ryan." It is owned by Discovery Communications.
