As of 2015, Animal Planet airs shows including "100 Miles from Nowhere," "Pit Bulls and Parolees," "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom" and "Swamp Wars." Each show features educational information about animals, wild places or human interaction with animals.
Animal Planet's "100 Miles from Nowhere" follows Matt Galland and two of his friends as they travel to remote parts of the world. Each episode follows the trio as they walk approximately 100 miles through jungles, mountains, deserts and other remote areas. "Pit Bulls and Parolees" is an Animal Planet show about pit bull trainer Tia Torres and her work to pair pit bulls with six recently paroled offenders. Episodes also include information about the pit bull breed aimed at fighting its reputation as dangerous, unpredictable dogs.
"Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom" is a long-running series of shows about animals and their habitats, now aired by Animal Planet. The show includes episodes about all kind of animals, such as Bengal tigers, crocodiles, Uakari monkeys, wild dogs and elephants. "Swamp Wars" is an Animal Planet show that follows the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Venom One unit as they track and capture snakes and other reptiles. The Venom One unit holds the nation's only anti-venom bank for public use, and some episodes of Swamp Wars show the unit rushing anti-venom to snake-bite victims.
