Bruno Tonioli was born on Nov. 25, 1955, in Ferrara, Italy, and is a ballroom and Latin dance judge, choreographer and dancer. As of 2015, he is a judge on the American television dance competition "Dancing with the Stars" as well as its British counterpart, "Strictly Come Dancing."
Bruno Tonioli has worked on plays, films, music videos, commercials and concerts, choreographing many productions and sometimes participating as a dancer. His credits include the films "Ella Enchanted," "What a Girl Wants," "Enigma" and "Blow Dry," while his music video and concert credits include artists such as Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury and Tina Turner.
Tonioli is fluent in Italian, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, making the demand for his services higher, since he can easily communicate in many parts of the world. He married his partner Jason Schanne in 2012, following the wrap party of the 14th season of "Dancing With the Stars." Guests included Perez Hilton, Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek.
Tonioli is a supporter of gay rights, and has spoken openly about bullying and homophobic abuse he suffered as a young man. His motivational speaking on the subject has helped teens and young adults worldwide.
