Jay McGraw is the son of Phil McGraw, better known as Dr. Phil, and Robin McGraw. He sometimes appears on the show "Dr. Phil" alongside his father and is the author of several self-help books for teens and their families, as of 2015.
McGraw was born on Sept. 12, 1979, in Wichita County, Texas. His father rose to fame on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," and the success of his segments led to the creation of "Dr. Phil," on which McGraw serves as a producer. He also served as a producer on other shows, such as "The Test" and "The Doctors," and appeared on camera as the host of "Renovate My Family." In 2010, McGraw launched RumorFix, a website that examines tabloid rumors and evaluates their truthfulness.
McGraw is the author of numerous self-help books, particularly targeting teenagers, including "Life Strategies for Teens" and "Closing the Gap: A Strategy for Bringing Parents and Teens Together." In his personal life, McGraw married former Playboy model Erica Dahm on Aug 12, 2006, followed by a reception of over 400 guests at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Dahm gave birth to the couple's first daughter, Avery Elizabeth, in March 2010, and their second child, a son named London Phillip, on Aug. 31, 2011. McGraw's hobbies include Tae Kwon Do, golf and scuba diving.
