The ESPN2 television schedule is available online at ESPN.com or on any of the various web sites detailing all television listings such as TV.com. Similarly, the listings for the ESPN2 channel are available in television listings booklets. Viewers can also find listings by navigating to the channel on the television and scrolling to the right to see future listings.
On weekdays, the daytime schedule for ESPN2 stays fairly consistent. As of 2015, some of the shows include "Mike and Mike," "First Take" and "His and Hers." Other shows commonly played in the afternoon, depending on the night's sports schedule, are "Around the Horn," "Highly Questionable" and "Pardon the Interruption."
ESPN launched ESPN2 on Oct. 1, 1993. The entertainment and sports coverage company had determined that its single channel was insufficient to meet consumer demand and saw an opportunity for expansion and increased revenue in starting a second channel. ESPN intended for ESPN2 to be a less formal, more youth-oriented channel than the regular ESPN network.
ESPN2 was also the network's channel of choice for several non-mainstream sporting events such as billiards, bowling and poker, among others. However, the channel frequently carries major sports such as baseball and tennis as well.
