Sara Haines is a news professional and lifestyle anchor who is known for her roles on the morning TV programs "Good Morning America Weekend Edition" and "Good Morning America." She also worked on NBC's "Today," in which she starred along with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford for 4 years, leaving that post in 2013.
Sara Haines was born in 1977 in Newton, Iowa, and resides in New York City, New York, as of 2015. She has three siblings, and she attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, receiving a B.A. degree in government in 2000. While attending Smith, she played sports, including volleyball and basketball.
Haines' career began when she worked as a production coordinator for "Today" on NBC, working from New York City. She was part of the Page Program at NBC, graduating from the program prior to being hired on in the capacity of production coordinator in 2002. She later worked as a contributing correspondent on the show in its fourth hour before leaving and joining ABC News, working as a lifestyle anchor and correspondent for the weekend program.
Haines has no children, as of 2015. She married Max Shifrin in the Bahamas in 2014 and has two pet Chihuahuas.
