Rhonda Walker was previously married to Derrick Walker, a former NFL tight end for teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers. The couple later divorced, having no children.
Derrick Walker enrolled at the University of Michigan in 1985, where he played linebacker and tight end for the Wolverines. He was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the sixth round of the 1990 NFL Draft, and he played on the team until 1993. Walker was traded to the Chiefs in 1994 and stayed with them for three years, before playing his final season with the Oakland Raiders in 1999. In July 2012, Walker sued the NFL, alleging a failure to warn him and other players about the risk of concussions.
