Tourists wishing to attend Daytona Bike Week do not need to register; however, vendors are required to register for a temporary sales tax license during the festival. Sales licenses are obtainable through either the City of Daytona Beach, Volusia County or the state Department of Revenue office. More information about reserving vending space is available on the Daytona Bike Week website.
Daytona Bike Week is a 10-day motorcycle rally that has been a tradition in Florida since 1937. Over 500,000 bikers attend the event, coming from all over the country. Aside from the great beaches, attendees of the event enjoy concerts, races, parties and street festivals. Local businesses have long catered to the event by offering cyclists 24/7 entertainment. A calendar of events is posted on DaytonaBikeWeek.com before the March festival, and tickets to specific races and shows are available directly from the racing venues.
In addition to Daytona Bike Week, the city puts on another shorter, smaller rally in October known as "Biketoberfest." As opposed to the March event, this rally only lasts for five days. A list of events and participating vendors is available on the Daytona Beach website, as well as at DaytonaBikeWeek.com.
