Several sporting events are held at the Ohio Expo Center each year, including the Ohio Roller Girls Roller Derby, the Ohio Central District Basketball Tournaments and the Buckeye Classic gymnastic shows. The center also is the site of Central Ohio Home and Garden Show and the Boat & RV Show. The center also is home to the Columbus Octoberfest, the Columbus International Festival, the Scott Antique Market, the Worthington Stamp Show and the Mid-Ohio Cluster Dog Show. The All-American Quarter Horse Congress, the Columbus Toys & Collectibles Show, and the Christmas Fair all take place there as well. Conferences and meetings, graduations and commencements, banquets, and weddings are held there every year.

The center comprises 360 acres, more than 1 million square feet of covered event space, parking for 12,000 vehicles, seating for 20,000 people and accommodations for 2,000 cattle. There are more than 20 buildings, including pavilions, livestock facilities, multipurpose facilities and an arena that seats 10,000. A basketball court and ice rink are also on the property.
