The Canadian TV host was born on April 18, 1974. As a child, he learned about construction from his father, an aircraft engineer. He opened his own business at 14, doing odd jobs in the neighborhood. Baeumler attended the University of Western Ontario and received degrees in Political Science and Business in 1996. He chose to work in construction rather than go on to law school.
Baeumler's first show in HGTV was "Disaster DIY," which premiered in 2007. As host, he would help homeowners fix their do-it-yourself projects.
