The first six seasons of the show are set in Sussex, England, during the war, while the series then diverts to Foyle's life during the Cold War as a spy.
The series began in 2002 and was subsequently cancelled after five seasons only to be revived again. There are a total of eight seasons in all, as of 2015. The show was nominated at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Television Awards for Production Design in 2002 and then for Best Drama Series in 2003. Parts of the series are available for purchase on DVD, but a complete set is unavailable, as of 2015.
