Dean Martin's tombstone features his name, date of birth and death, and a quote, "Everybody loves somebody sometime." The quote is taken from a song made famous by Martin in 1964.
"Everybody Loves Somebody," the source of Martin's tombstone quote, was written in 1947 by Sam Coslow, Irving Taylor and Ken Lane. Other singers performed the song prior to Martin, but his version, released on an album with the same name, proved enormously popular. "Everybody Loves Somebody" soon replaced "That's Amore" as Martin's signature song. Other versions of the song have been performed by artists such as Andy Williams, Claudio Lippi and Martin's daughter, Deana.
