"Justified" was an American cable television drama series starring Timothy Olyphant as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. After Givens shoots mob hitman Tommy Bucks in Miami, he is reassigned to a quieter Kentucky jurisdiction that includes Harlan County, which is the site of his hated hometown and many criminal enemies.
Givens is portrayed as an old-fashioned type of lawman with an unconventional sense of justice, which inflames the tempers of both the criminals that he targets and his superiors in the U.S. Marshals Service office. Based on a short story by Elmore Leonard called "Fire in the Hole," the show explored crime in the Appalachia region of the United States, along with ideas of revenge, morality, family and home.
