The "Outlander" miniseries on Starz follows the journey of Claire Randall, a combat nurse who, on her honeymoon in 1945, mysteriously transports back to 1743 Scotland. While there she has to marry a young Scottish warrior, Jamie Fraser, and protect herself from Black Jack, the ancestor to her 1945 husband. Frank.
When Claire arrives in 1743, she drops into the middle of a war between the English and Scottish. To protect herself, she uses the last name Beauchamp. However, to further keep her from suspicion, Jamie Fraser agrees to marry her to make her an official Scottish citizen. She finds herself torn between both worlds and both husbands.
