"Flipping Vegas" follows Scott and Amie Yancey, who work for the Goliath Company, as they purchase houses to renovate and flip for possible profits. Since premiering on Aug. 21, 2010, the series has led to multiple other shows based on house flipping, such as "Flipping Boston" and "Flipping Miami."
Scott Yancey began his career with a land development firm. He used the experience he gained to found the Goliath Company. He has spent over 20 years in the real estate industry, working as a real estate investor, an educator and a writer.
Amie Yancey grew up on a ranch in Canada. She first rode horses, then moved on to dirt bikes and motorcycles. In 2004, she and Scott moved to Las Vegas, where she has sold over 700 homes. When flipping houses for the Goliath Company, Amie serves as a real estate investor, an interior designer and a real estate agent.
The series received mixed to negative reviews, with a user rating of 4.4 out of 10 stars on IMDb and 3.7 out of 10 on TV.com, as of May 2015. Multiple reviews criticized the cast, particularly Scott Yancey, for their rude personalities. Other reviews mentioned that aspects of the show, such as the open house dates, seem scripted.
