As of 2015, there are no official plans for "Under Siege 3." In a 2014 interview with The Big Issue, Steven Seagal, the star of the "Under Siege" franchise, stated that he wanted to write a third installment in the series set in Russia. The proposed plot of the film involved American and Russian special forces working together to fight terrorism.
In a 2015 interview with JoBlo, Steven Seagal restated his desire to make another sequel to "Under Siege," explaining that the reason it hadn't happened was due to contractual rights issues with Warner Bros.
The original "Under Siege" received positive notices from critics and was one of the biggest box office hits of 1992, grossing over $150 million worldwide. Directed by Andrew Davis and starring Seagal, Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Busey and Erika Eleniak, the fast-paced action-thriller follows former Navy SEAL Casey Ryback, played by Seagal, as he battles a team of mercenaries who have taken control of a U.S. Navy battleship.
Released in 1995, "Under Siege 2: Dark Territory" finds Casey Ryback once again fighting against mercenaries in an enclosed location, this time aboard a train traveling from Denver to Los Angeles. In addition to Seagal, the movie stars Eric Bogosian, Katherine Heigl and Morris Chestnut. Despite mixed reviews, the movie grossed over $100 million worldwide.
