Some popular titles in the "Eve Duncan" series are "The Face Of Deception," "Blind Alley" and "Eight Days To Live." In 2013, Iris Johansen released an Eve Duncan trilogy including "Taking Eve," "Hunting Eve" and "Silencing Eve."
In "The Face Of Deception," readers are introduced to Eve Duncan. Duncan's daughter was murdered years before, and Eve has dedicated her life as a forensic sculptor to bringing closure to the families of child victims. She is hired to identify a skull of what may be an American president but soon runs into a serial killer mystery.
In the seventh book in the series, "Blind Alley," Eve is called in to identify the remains of the victims of a serial killer who cuts off his victims' faces. Eve's adopted daughter, 17-year-old Jane, has a tie to the killer, and Eve must protect her. Supernatural elements are at work in the mystery as well. Book 11, "Eight Days To Live," finds Jane in more trouble when she is targeted by another killer. Eve and her colleagues have to fight a cult that wants to sacrifice Jane.
In the trilogy, Eve's biggest enemy, Jim Doane, takes her hostage because he needs her skills. Eve does all she can to fight him and to discover why he has targeted her for so long. Eve fights for her life and the lives of her friends. Some of the series' outstanding questions are answered in the final book of the trilogy.
