Some of the most popular "Star Wars" creatures are Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2. Other popular "Star Wars" creatures include Jar Jar Binks, Wicket, Jabba the Hutt and Admiral Ackbar.
Some of the most popular creatures in "Star Wars" are main characters in the series. C-3PO and R2-D2, both robots, are the only characters to appear in every "Star Wars" film, beginning with the first film, "A New Hope," and most recently as of 2015 in "Revenge of the Sith." C-3PO and R2-D2 typically serve as comic relief, which has brought them popularity among fans. Chewbacca, a Wookie, is one of the most popular creatures in the series as well. As Han Solo's sidekick, he first appeared in "A New Hope," and would also appear in "The Empire Strikes Back," "Return of the Jedi" and "Revenge of the Sith."
Other popular "Star Wars" creatures are villains, or are popular in negative ways. Jabba the Hutt, a large, slimy monster, is one of the major villains of "Return of the Jedi," and has retained popularity for his grotesque appearance. Admiral Ackbar, a lobster-like creature who appeared in "Return of the Jedi," is a popular character due to parodies made from his dialogue. Other creatures, such as Wicket, an Ewok, and Jar Jar Binks, a Gungan, are popular as a result of how hated they are by fans. Wicket and Binks are often considered the worst aspects of their movies, "Return of the Jedi" and "The Phantom Menace," respectively.
