Two popular recipes from "The Chew" are Candy Bag Banana Treats and Clinton Kelly's Oven-Fried Chicken. The treats are a great way to use leftover Halloween candy, while the chicken makes a quick and easy weekday meal.
To make Candy Bag Banana Treats, chop some leftover candy bars into small pieces and set aside. Place eight banana halves with Popsicle sticks in them on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet, and freeze them. Melt 12 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Dip the frozen banana halves first into the chocolate, and then into the crushed candy bars. Place the treats back on wax paper to allow the chocolate to set.
To make Clinton Kelly's Oven-fried Chicken, mix together 1 cup nonfat Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon hot sauce and salt and pepper to taste. In a second bowl, combine 2 cups crushed corn flakes, 2 teaspoons dried oregano, 2 teaspoons dried thyme and some salt and pepper. Coat four bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs and two breasts with the yogurt mixture, and then coat them with the corn flake mixture. Place them on an a greased baking pan and spray with olive oil. Bake the chicken in a 350 degree oven for one hour. Remove the white meat pieces from the pan, and cook the dark meat for another 15 minutes. Cook to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
