Most of Gene Watson's two dozen top-10 singles are available on YouTube, including his biggest hits "Farewell Party," "14 Carat Mind" and "Love in the Hot Afternoon." Several YouTube videos featuring Watson are so popular that they have eclipsed one million views; as of 2015, his three most popular videos online are "When a Man Can't Get a Woman Off His Mind," "Paper Rosie" and a live rendition of "Farewell Party."
The 1975 track "Love in the Afternoon" was Gene Watson's first single for a major label and is still one of his most-viewed songs on YouTube, although it has been surpassed by more recent recordings. Although Watson usually recorded as a solo act, several of the country music legend's hits were recorded in the studio and subsequently performed live with bluegrass musician Rhonda Vincent. These tracks, including "Gone for Good," "Staying Together" and "Together Again," are among Watson's most viewed videos on YouTube.
Several other country artists have recorded versions of Watson's songs that did well on the American country music charts. Alan Jackson's cover of "Farewell Party" and David Frizzell's cover of "Long Black Veil" are two examples of modern artists being inspired by Watson's 1970s and '80s material.
