Following "Victorious," Grande starred in "Sam & Cat," a "Victorious" spin-off. Her music career began with the "Victorious" soundtrack, and she signed a recording contract with Republic Records in 2013, releasing her first album, "Yours Truly," which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. The album's first single, "The Way," reached Top 10 status on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles chart.
In 2014, Grande released her second album, "My Everything," which also reached number one on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. The album spent 34 weeks in the top 10, with Grande receiving the accolade of having the most top 10 singles of any artist that year, including "Problem," "Bang Bang" and "Break Free."
Taylor Swift, a native of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, moved to Nashville as a teenager to follow her dream of performing country music. Her country and pop country albums were extremely successful and have included "Taylor Swift," "Fearless," "Speak Now" and "Red." Swift, with increasing curiosity and musical ability, chose to follow a path in pop music, and released her 2014 album, "1989."
