A political cartoon is an illustration published online or in a newspaper or magazine that attempts to make a point about a political event or situation. Political cartoons often defend, criticize or mock government officials and government policies.
In most publications, political cartoons are located in the editorial section to support an opinion piece or to stand alone as an editorial in itself. Political cartoons are opinion pieces based on current events in the news or local community and feature a biased point of view on a political topic through art and illustration. In many cases, political cartoons are considered satire.
